Overview & the challenge
Essencraft reached out to me for help with packaging concepts, starting with their flagship product, Shilajit resin. Without an established brand identity, the challenge was to create designs that complemented their existing product while laying the foundation for a cohesive look across future offerings.
The goal was to keep things practical—ensuring the packaging was flexible enough for different products while maintaining a strong, consistent feel. To keep costs down, we focused on off-the-shelf solutions rather than custom manufacturing. Along the way, I also provided strategic branding ideas to help shape their visual direction.
As a freelance creative, I handled the full design process, from concept to final artwork:
⸺ Concept Development
I explored five different packaging design ideas, creating digital mockups to showcase how each one could work. The aim was to balance visual impact with practicality while building on Essencraft’s existing product.
⸺ Branding Refinement
Since there wasn’t a full brand identity in place, I worked closely with Essencraft to refine key elements, making sure the packaging felt cohesive and set a strong foundation for future products.
⸺ Final Deliverables
Once we landed on the preferred design, I fine-tuned the details and supplied open artwork files, ready for both production and digital use.
⸺ Material and Production Advice
I also helped navigate material choices and packaging considerations, making sure the final designs were not just visually strong but also practical to produce.
The Outcome
Key Takeaways
The final designs gave Essencraft:
- Packaging that stood out and connected with their audience.
- A consistent look that could work across different products.
- Practical, budget-friendly options that could grow with their business.
- A flexible design toolkit with adaptable elements, so they could apply the concept seamlessly to future product launches.
This project highlights my ability to:
- Combine practicality with visual appeal in packaging design.
- Deliver solid branding ideas alongside the design work.
- Understand market needs and create designs that help products stand out.
- Approach a project like this slightly differently—starting with an existing product instead of a brand book or established visual guidelines.
By mixing creative ideas with strategic thinking, I provided Essencraft with a packaging solution that not only fit their product but also helped lay the groundwork for their brand moving forward.
